Madrid: primer día

Flight was fine, but was made less bearable by the food poisoning - probably picked up through my experimentation with several-day-old food from a questionable local chinese take-away. Hardly touched my first 3 in-flight meals, but after 20 hours or so I was feeling fine again. Touched down around 8am, dragged my overweight luggage to my apartment in town. With a fuse blown in my superdooper everywhere-to-anywhere power adapter I was in need of something to help power up my laptop - no Australian to Euro adapters to be found, so again I’m plugged in via my Aus-Japanese adapter with the hacked earth. Headed to work around my lunchtime, though lunchtime there turned out to be 3pm.Started to feel tired around 5 but kept myself awake by heading to Plaza de Goya, a couple of blocks from my apartment, and joining a few people to watch Spain’s first match in Euro 2008. Spain beat Russia 4-1.
